Snug began the way most good things do: with a few chapters of life already lived.

Our founders have spent years building spaces around their own lives — from growing careers, to growing families, to quiet places in nature that became somewhere to breathe. Every chapter asked something different of the home around it. Snug is everything we learned along the way.

We're a local Northern Ireland business, and proud of it. Everything we do is designed with care and joined to last, and we bring the same craft to the little changes as the big dream projects — the shelf that finally fits the awkward alcove just as much as the kitchen you've been imagining for years.

You'll most likely find us at the local on a Friday evening. And whenever you need us — mid-project, or years on as life changes and evolves — you'll always be able to reach a real person.

Blair

Co-Founder

For Blair, a home is never just a building — it's a story waiting to be continued. Over more than 25 years, he has fallen in love with the process of bringing spaces back to life: renovating farmhouses, restoring barns and period buildings, and shaping new homes from the ground up. There's something he finds genuinely satisfying about the whole arc of it — that first walk through a tired, neglected building, imagining what it could become, right through to watching someone move in and make it theirs.

That care extends to how these homes are built and renovated, not just how they look. Blair believes strongly in the sustainability of reuse — that breathing new life into an old farmhouse or barn, rather than starting from scratch, is often the most thoughtful thing you can do, both for a building and for the environment. Retaining character, improving energy efficiency and reducing waste sit at the heart of how he approaches every renovation.

It's this hands-on, personal relationship with residential spaces, and the people who live in them, and a genuine belief that good renovation is both a craft and a responsibility, that Blair brings to Snug.

For Alan, property has always been about recognising potential and creating lasting value. His background in business, investment and property has given him a strong commercial perspective, but he has always retained a personal interest in transforming homes and seeing a project come to life.

He believes the best renovations balance thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship with practical decision-making. From identifying an opportunity through to the final details, Alan enjoys the process of creating homes that are both beautifully finished and genuinely enjoyable to live in.

It's this combination of commercial experience, an eye for opportunity and a genuine appreciation for well-designed homes that Alan brings to Snug.
